Enemy Wine Seized 1225

Enemy Wine Seized

The King to all his bailiffs, Greeting.

Know ye that we have seized the wines of Auniz that belonged to men of Rochelle, and were in the ship of Robert de Salern of Rye, and have put them into our Castle of Dover, because the men of Rochelle, when we seized them, were in hostility to us, and were adhering to the King of France.

And this we declare by these our letters. In witness, &c.
